BFA in Interarts Performance

Daryl

My final work at the Stamps School of Art and Design is called Daryl, a digital book that uses text, image, and video as an alternative structure for performance during the Coronavirus Pandemic. In this work, I examine my own life through the lens of casting—in all senses of the word—such as to cast light, to be cast in a show, and the cast object. Braiding together personal narrative, theory, material from my everyday, and movement research, one of my aims is to acknowledge the presence of cast objects around us and how the casting process might demonstrate a methodology for existence that focuses on holding, being held, and tending to transformation.
