A Familiar Captivity

The identity of blacks is an astonishment. It is anything but clear and when viewed from any angle, it’s compelling, intricate, and demanding of careful examination. Viewing the black narrative in the lens of multiplicity is necessary to understand the condition of blacks today. Each fiber woven into the narrative of blacks is essential to the image we see now. The outcry to the past, present and future is a result of each component of black history. If we don’t carefully examine these elements, and rationalize reality based on the entirety of the chain of events, the reasonable demands of the oppressed will never be heard or, more important, understood. History is an intricate tapestry of moments that come together to tell one story. There is a simple story about blacks that has been warped, redacted, and diluted. When we string these occurrences together, we have a better chance of reaching the conclusion of the matter.
The depiction of bondage throughout history is important to examine. Studying what has been redacted or promoted, covered or updated and asking why?

Into the Belly of the Pyramid

African Americans have been on plantations in the country from 1619 until this present day within this country. Depicting this scene was necessary because it lays the foundation for the history of blacks within this country.

Plantation

While Christianity has acted as a refuge for African Americans throughout their time in this country, it has also acted as the very terror the blacks have had to take refuge from. It is important to acknowledge the long lasting effects that Christianity has had on blacks, whether that’s the loss of their identity or their self worth.

The Church

The outcry of the nation has found itself on the front lawn of this country's government time and time again, outcry’s of the oppressor and the oppressed. There is an elephant in the room, one full of emotions that will no longer be contained.

The Capitol

There have been too many players in the redacting business to depict them all, some faces haven’t been seen by the general public. So this one man embodies all the forces that have acted together to destroy the past, present, and future of African Americans.
