Kitchen : Comfort

When we think of a home, we think of living in it. I would argue, though, that we live with it. Kitchen : Comfort scratches at the surface of my fascination with the everyday. I envision this book as the first in a series titled Mundane Investigations. Each work in this series will be devoted to a different room in a home and the objects within. Kitchen : Comfort centers the kitchen, exploring a deeper relationship with the aspects of space that are often overlooked. In this book, poetry is combined with gritty black and white monotypes to capture and reflect on ephemeral moments. From the fleeting composition of objects in a cabinet to the smell of onions and garlic in the air, a kitchen is captured.
